Its all about the light
Bowes Museum in Barnard Castle is South Facing and the view on the right was taken at 4:22pm in the afternoon.
Plenty of Spring sunshine and blue sky makes this picture.
Contrast that with one taken a few days before with no sun and plenty of grey cloud.
As you can see its all about the light.
